The Downingtown Area School District (DASD) is proud to announce “An Evening With The Lenape Community,” featuring guest speaker Jeremy Johnson on November 20th, 2024, at 6 PM via Zoom. This event is part of DASD's commitment to celebrating Native American Heritage Month and honoring the rich contributions of Indigenous community members.
Jeremy Johnson, the Cultural Education Director of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this program. As a member of the Lenape, Absentee Shawnee, and Peoria tribes, Johnson is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing Lenape culture and language for future generations. With over eighteen years of experience as a middle school and high school English teacher and coach, he is passionate about education and cultural heritage.
“An Evening With The Lenape Community” aims to foster understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, highlighting the significant contributions of the Lenape people and other Indigenous communities. This event aligns with DASD’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all voices are heard and valued within our educational environment.
